Kathryn Burns, President

 

Kathryn Burns is a Two-time Emmy-winning choreographer, actress, dancer, director, and Co-Governor of the Television Academy. She got her start studying improv at Upright Citizen’s Brigade and gravitates towards story driven movement with joy and comedy. She has choreographed nearly 200 episodes of TV including Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2016 & 2019 Emmy winner for Outstanding Choreography), The Simpsons, Reno 911, The Other Two, Key & Peele, The Morning Show, Why Women Kill, Dancing With The Stars, Better Things, The Dropout, The Shrink Next Door, The Afterparty, Drunk History, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, and many more.

Before the shutdown she was a performer at the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade for more than a decade, where she Co-created and produced their longest running musical mainstay “Quick & Funny Musicals”. The Q&F team was an official selection of the New York Musical Theater Festival, The San Francisco SketchFest, Edinburgh Fringe Fest, and has written over 50 original short musicals. Her short film “Bulimia: The Musical” was an official selection of 14 film festivals and won 2. Kyle Hanagami, Vice President

 

Kyle Hanagami is a Los Angeles-based Choreographer and Creative Director and has become one of the industry’s most sought after talents. He has worked with artists such as BLACKPINK, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Alicia Keys and Justin Beiber, as well as partnered with globally recognized brands like Nike, Disney, Netflix and Calvin Klein. He has built an online empire with over 4.5 million YouTube subscribers and more than 1 billion views. Luam Keflezgy is a global sensation in dance and choreography. Through her choreography and artistic direction, it has brought her to artists and projects such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, Step Up Revolution, Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Kanye, Reebok, John Legend, X Factor, American Idol, and more, she has obtained cult popularity among the dance community all over the world with her teachings and passion for spreading inspiration.

Dana Wilson, Vice President

 

Dana Wilson is a bright and vivacious content creator, choreographer, and performer. She may be best known for performing alongside Justin Timberlake on three world tours and the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but Dana’s feature in Dance Magazine declares her “Anything But A Backup Dancer”.

Dana contributed choreography to the Film adaptation of In The Heights, and acted as the pre-production movement coach for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Elvis Biopic. Her work can also be spotted in Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming Pinocchio for Netflix.

 

Dana also makes up one third of the wildly original and imaginative group “The Seaweed Sisters” (adored and admired by a wide range of audiences from toddlers and their parents to the screens of Dance Camera West, and the Cascadia International Women’s Film Festival).

 

Dana has been teaching for over thirteen years, and she is constantly experimenting with new technologies and techniques (like 360 degree video, VR and Drones). Dominique Kelley, Vice President

 

Dominique Kelley has been named one of the most promising up and coming choreographers of his generation. An avid tapper and percussionist, Dominique tries to fuse rhythm patterns with classical movement to create a visual and aural experience.

 

“Black and Blue” was his first Broadway tour at age 12, and then “Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk national tour at 15, and ever since he has had a love of performing, choreographing, and movement coaching.

Allison Holker Boss

 

Allison Holker Boss is an American dancer, choreographer, and actress. Holker has worked in film, television, and concert tours. She is known from her appearances on the television dance competition So You Think You Can Dance, where she was a contestant in season 2 and an all-star in seasons 7–11 and 14.

Holker performed with Earth, Wind and Fire at the opening and closing ceremonies at the Olympic Games in 2002, and in the Disney movies High School Musical and High School Musical 2. On television, she has been seen in various commercials and advanced to the Top 8 on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance, and danced in that season’s SYTYCD nationwide tour. She performed with a show called “Ballroom with a Twist,” choreographed by Louis Van Amstel, and appeared with American Idol’s Clay Aiken in his PBS special “Tried and True”. Allison Holker is an Emmy-nominated dancer and choreographer. Holker was nominated with Derek Hough for a 2013 Outstanding Choreography Emmy® award for their work in Dancing with the Stars. She was also a featured dancer in two of the other nominated pieces that year. Brian Friedman can be described as a pioneer and entrepreneur having opened his first dance studio at the age of 16. He got his first big break as a dancer when he starred in the 1992 film “Newsies”. Soon thereafter, he became one of the breakout stars on the cult classic hit Disney show Kids Incorporated, alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt and the late Brittany Murphy. As one of the most sought-after dancers in the business, his film credits include Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, You Got Served, She’s All That, Austin Powers Gold Member and Uptown Girls. Charm La’Donna

 

Charm La’Donna is a dancer, choreographer, and creative director motivated by one thing: instinct. An assiduous prodigy, Charm went on her first tour with Madonna at 17 before attending UCLA to study World Arts and Culture. She put herself through college as the protégé of renowned choreographer Fatima Robinson and has since become one of the most adored and in-demand multi-hyphenates in entertainment.

Emmy Nominated choreographer, Chloé Arnold, was discovered at a young age in Washington, DC by Debbie Allen. Chloé’s choreography has been featured on hit TV shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, Good Morning America, the Ellen Show, The Talk, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Hello, Jack!, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s A Legendary Christmas, and over 50 episodes of The Late Late Show With James Corden featuring A-list actors from Will Smith and Hugh Jackman to pop superstars Ariana Grande and BTS. Chloé most recently choreographed the upcoming Apple TV+ musical film Spirited starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer.

Christopher Scott is a three-time Emmy-nominated choreographer whose bold routines and fearless creativity step beyond the traditional boundaries of dance. He is most recognized for his innovative hip-hop duets and signature group routines that fuse dance styles on Fox’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Recent projects choreographed by Chris include Warner Brothers’ musical IN THE HEIGHTS with director Jon Chu, Amazon Studios’ BEING THE RICARDOS starring Nicole Kidman, and Fox’s new series THE BIG LEAP in which he also serves as a producer. Derek Hough

 

Emmy Award winning and New York Times Best-Selling author Derek Hough, the only six time champion in franchise history of the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars, started dancing in his hometown of Salt Lake City, UT, at age 11. Just one year later, he moved to London to live and train with the top dance coaches in the world and attend the prestigious Italia Conti performing arts school where he studied theater, music and dance.

He made his feature film debut for director Duane Adler and producer Robert Cort in the feature film Make Your Move and has a recurring role on the ABC series Nashville. Maya Taylor is an internationally recognized performer and choreographer based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, she studied classical ballet for many years before diving into contemporary and classical modern. Shortly after receiving her degree Taylor joined Elisa Monte Dance and for several years performed throughout the United States and Europe. Ryan is known for extracting magic out of non-dancers and actors alike. It’s through his experience of teaching novice dancers for a decade that sharpened this skill. Actors: Kristin Wiig, Elijah Wood, Zendaya, Kate Hudson, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Judith Light, Ewan McGregor, Juliette Lewis, Alison Brie, Brit Marling and Phyllis Smith are a few Ryan has coached.

 

Heffington’s directorial work infuses choreography with his keen eye for design and expression. Free People, Paul McCarney, SK-II, Grey Goose and Fleet Foxes are a few entities to enlist Ryan’s expertise.

 

Heffington happily resides in the high desert a few hours outside Los Angeles where he throws “TITS + PALMS” – a monthly dance party for queers and their allies. He’s in the early stages of developing a residency for multi-disciplinary creatives, continuing to build community as he did in Los Angeles for nearly 30 years.

Tessandra Chavez

 

Two time Emmy Award-winning Tessandra Chavez is an in-demand choreographer with her iconic work spanning across the entire entertainment industry.

 

Her most recent 2019 Emmy win was for her breathtaking work that she created on her dance company UNITY LA for NBC’s World of Dance Season 3. Most notable is the iconic story driven performance “Piece by Piece” that was told to Kelly Clarkson’s heart wrenching song. The dance seamlessly and strategically features a door and her elite 10 dancer ensemble who take you through an emotional journey of a father who leaves his family. This dance is known for giving celebrity judge Neyo his first “goosie’s” ever stating he had never had a dance affect him so deeply.

In 2015, Tessandra, along with celebrity dancer-choreographers Derek and Julianne Hough, took home the Emmy for Outstanding Choreography for their Dancing with the Stars season-finale routine to Sia’s “Elastic Heart.” For anyone who has seen the routine, either on TV or YouTube, the award is no surprise. The routine captures Tessandra’s signature choreography, a progressive brand of Contemporary that is both athletic and intensely emotional. Performed by the Hough’s, the exciting brother and sister dance team, “Elastic Heart” became an instant classic.

 

In addition to her 2 Emmy wins and plethora of television work, Tessandra has created masterful work for legendary artists such as Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and the band MUSE. The Muse “Dead Inside” music video featuring Kathryn McCormick and William Wingfield all stars of SYTYCD has hit 50 million views on YouTube and has become a MUSE visual classic. Growing up in San Diego, Tessandra began dancing at the age of 5, choreographing at the age of 11, and even founded her own dance company, Unity Dance Ensemble, at the age of 15 (now known as UNITY LA). The struggle of growing up in a low-income single-parent household helped drive Tessandra to dedicate her entirety to perfecting her craft. Tessandra gained extensive and versatile training in Jazz, Tap, Modern, Ballet, and Hip Hop. This mastery of multiple styles of dance has made her unparalleled in her field. She is regarded to many as a pioneer in her field because of her signature style of contemporary which is a true fusion of multiple styles of dance, most notably how she incorporates hip hop and unique musicality into her choreography.

Since emerging into the Los Angeles dance industry in 2001, Tricia Miranda has become one of the biggest names in choreography today working with artists such as Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato, LL Cool J, Will I Am, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Missy Elliott, to name a few. She will soon be seen as a celebrity judge for CBS’s new dance competition series, Come Dance With Me.

Vincent Paterson

 

Vincent Paterson’s career as a director and choreographer includes creations in film, theater Broadway, concert tours, opera, music videos, television and commercials.

 

Vincent directed and choreographed Berlin’s first original production of the musical CABARET at Bar Jeder-Vernunft, a mirror-tent from 1918. It is the longest running play in Berlin’s history. He directed and choreographed EVITA for Vienna’s Ronacher Theater.

Vincent’s short film, THRENODY, a dance-performance perspective on the tragedy of 9/11 has been broadcast nationally and was produced and shot by Joe Pytka.

(where he received a Fellowship), and on several occasions at the Lincoln Center West Director’s Lab. He has taught acting in Los Angeles and dance around the world from Tokyo to Berlin to Los Angeles. He received his BA in Theater Arts from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa.
